Competent Person Electrical Low Voltage: Course Overview
This training course is designed to provide delegates with the necessary technical knowledge, skill set, and relevant experience to be able to accept a permit to work from an Authorised Person Low voltage Authorised Person Electrical Low Voltage personnel.
This course covers a number of topics that will help familiarise candidates with low voltage equipment, how to use it correctly, and be able to interpret safety rules and procedures including HTM 06-02.

What is covered in this Competent person electrical low voltage training course?
The delegates will cover and gain an understanding of dangers and hazards that are associated with working with electrical systems, and the roles and responsibilities of a competent person and of the electrical team. As well as that the candidate will cover:
- Be able to identify access and safely operate the electrical equipment on designated electrical systems
- Have an understanding of the HTM 06-02 Safety Rules
- Have an understanding of the statutory and non-statutory regulations
- Be familiar with the requirements of accepting a safety document
- Understand the procedures for working on equipment made dead
- Understand the procedures for working on live equipment
- Testing of circuits prior to energisation

This competent person training course in low voltage is assessed with 2 assessments – 1 written and 1 practical.

Delegates will leave the low voltage competent person training course with the following skills and knowledge:
1. Understand the Dangers and the hazards associated with the electrical systems
2. Understand the responsibilities of a Competent Person and the roles of the Electrical

electrical systems.

Assessment 1
- Multiple Choice Question Paper (Closed Book)
- 30 Questions in 1hr – 70% pass rate
Assessment 2
- Practical – To demonstrate a single point final circuit isolations

A Competent Person Electrical Low Voltage Certificate will be provided upon successful completion.
This will need refreshing every 3 years.
