IOSH Managing Safely Online Course Information
The IOSH Managing Safely Online Course is hosted on Microsoft Teams. Microsoft Teams is also available through a mobile app for those unable to access a PC. However, delegates will need a device with a mic, speakers and a working camera.
Workbooks are sent digitally prior to the course. Additionally, delegates will need access to their emails during the course to receive documents throughout the online training.
All the IOSH training online content is the same as the classroom courses.
Please have a photograph ID available as this will be shown to the trainer during the course.

IOSH Managing Safely Exam
At the end of successful completing this course, each delegate must take a multiple choice exam. This will take 45 minutes to answer, with 30 multiple choice questions, true or false questions and one-word open questions. The IOSH Managing Safely exam questions are based around the learning outcomes from the 3 day course. The exam takes place on the third day of the IOSH Managing Safety Course.
IOSH Managing Safely Risk Assessment
The second element is a practical risk assessment. A hazard spotting exercise will be undertaken in the delegate’s own place of work. The risk assessment should be completed within 2 weeks after the IOSH Managing Safely exam.
The pass rates are as follows:
Multiple Choice Exam – 36/60
Practical Risk Assessment – 23/38
IOSH Managing Safely Online Assessment
The assessment will be completed via an editable PDF document. Each delegate will receive an email of the PDF document.
All delegates are required to be on camera throughout, so the trainer can supervise.
IOSH Certificate
The delegate will receive a Level 2 IOSH Qualification upon successfully completing the IOSH Managing Safely Course and assessment.
This is equivalent to a GCSE standard in the UK, as well as the internationally recognised qualification for safety awareness culture.
How long does an IOSH Qualification last?
An IOSH Qualification never expires. However, IOSH recommend taking an IOSH course every 3 years to refresh your training.
As Managing Safely is a 3 day course, we understand this can take some time away from work. Therefore, we have developed a 1 day refresher course. Please see our Managing Safely Refresher Training for more details.
IOSH and CPD
The IOSH Courses can also result in CPD (Continuing Professional Development) hours towards maintaining your membership at your professional institute.
Further IOSH Training
Despite an IOSH Managing Safely Certificate never expiring, IOSH advises delegates to attend an IOSH Course every 3 years. Fortunately, HX Training also provide an IOSH Managing Safely Refresher, which takes only 1 day to complete. We recommend this to line managers who feel that they need to revisit key content from the course.
