I’m not sure which products I need – what should I do?
If you need any help at all, please don't hesitate to contact us. You will be supported by a large team of technically proficient staff that have many, many years of experience in the water hygiene sector and are only too happy to help. Use our online chat facility in the bottom-right of your screen, email us at onlinesales@hydro-x.co.uk, or alternatively call us on 01909 666 708Is Hydro-X the manufacturer of the Coronavirus Test Kit?
No. However, Hydro-X's expertise for more than 35 years has been in supporting our customers to reduce risk within the workplace. We do this in many ways, from specialist compliance service provisions, to accredited training, to PPE and consumables supply. In light of current business risks, along with requests from our customers, Hydro-X have worked hard over recent months to partner with several, specialist, epigenetic coronavirus testing providers. Now we can extend this new facility of saliva testing to our customers, without impacting any supply to the UK Government and NHS. As such, the look of the box that the test kit arrives in may change over time, whilst we balance capacity between each provider to ensure continuity of supply. Is the test CE marked?
Yes, our Coronavirus Test Kit is fully CE marked.Do I need a medical professional or is this an at home coronavirus test?
With our CE marked Coronavirus Test Kit, the collection of the saliva sample can be done anywhere, whether that's at home or business. Other Covid-19 test kits, such as the nasal swabs, usually require a medical professional to ensure the test is done accurately. Is this Coronavirus Test Kit suitable for the ‘Test To Release’ or the ‘Day 2 & Day 8 Quarantine Scheme’?
Unfortunately this saliva based Coronavirus PCR Test Kit. Therefore, it is not currently approved for the above UK Government schemes. However, the approval process is currently underway. Is this test the same as an antibody test?
No – this is not an antibody test. An antibody test assesses whether you have been previously carrying the Covid-19 virus. In addition, antibody test also confirms if you have any antibodies in relation to the Covid-19 virus. Furthermore, an antibody test involves taking a blood sample, instead of saliva.
Scientists are still unsure of how long the antibodies remain in the bloodstream after you have been infected with Covid-19. They are also still investigating whether your are immune to catching Covid-19 again.
Our coronavirus saliva test kit is an antigen/PCR test, which does not assess whether you have had Covid-19 in the past. Instead, ours tests if you are currently carrying Covid-19.
* Please be aware of at-home or private antibody tests currently being sold online. It is against Government advice to use these as it is very unclear how effective these tests are at identifying the presence of antibodies from blood from the fingertip.
