Showers have been the source of many outbreaks of Legionnaires’ disease.
Showerhead Plus has proven effectiveness in Legionella bacteria control†, and should be used to clean shower heads every 3 months, or more frequently if your Legionella Risk Assessment advises so.
† The European Legionella Disinfection Test Standard (1995) for Legionella Pneumophila Serogroup 1 (NTCC 11192) gave control at 30 second contact time for 1:3 dilution.

Showerhead Plus Gel has been designed for use on shower head fixtures that cannot be moved or dismantled.
How To Use Showerhead Plus Liquid
To remove heavy deposits – use neat.
For routine cleaning programs – immersion in a solution of 1 part Shower head Plus to 3 parts water.
Cleaning your shower head – use a sturdy plastic bucket. Pour a sufficient amount of Showerhead Plus into the bucket, enough to cover the shower head(s). Leave to soak for 2-15 minutes, and remove any remaining loose scale by gentle rubbing.
Please Note: Shower head Plus should not be mixed with any other products i.e hypochlorite based solutions.
When the Showerhead Plus liquid solution turns from yellow to blue/green the solution is no longer effective and should be replaced.
Health And Safety
For the safe use of Showerhead Plus please wear the following protective clothing:
- Rubber gloves – the mild acid can cause damage to your skin
- Wear eye protection – to avoid any damage to your eyes
- Apron – to prevent any splashes or spills contacting clothing or skin
After using Shower head Plus, reassemble the shower and flush for at least 1 minute. This is to ensure any trace of the solution is removed before the shower is used again.

- Avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothing

Showerhead Plus Gel is a one-stop solution to descale and sanitize shower heads, plumbing fittings, and sanitary ware that cannot otherwise be removed for cleaning.
Showerhead Plus Gel has been developed for use on vertical surfaces and fixed fittings that cannot be dismantled and immersed for treatment. the product is applied by using a brush or other suitable applicator.
- Physically clean the head with a soft brush to remove loose deposits or soap scum.
- Apply Showerhead Plus Gel over the surface to be descaled and cleaned and allow to soak for five minutes
- Rinse thoroughly with clean water
- Inspect the surface of the shower head or fitting and if any scale is present then repeat step 2
- When the Shower head or fitting is clean and scale free apply a further coating of Showerhead Plus Gel over the surface of the shower head or fitting
- Allow a minimum of one-minute contact time for the disinfection process
- Rinse with copious amounts of clean water
- Examine fittings to confirm cleanliness
To remove heavy deposits:
Use Showerhead Plus liquid neat – caution should be used when using neat on chrome fittings. Please test in a small area first.
For routine and regular cleaning:
Immerse in a solution of 1-part Showerhead Plus liquid to 3 parts water.

- Physically clean the head with a soft brush to remove loose deposits or soap scum
