Job Title: Account Manager – Water
Reports To: Regional Sales Manager
Location: Required to visit customers and potential customers and attend meetings at the relevant Company office as required
Employment: Full time

The Account Manager is part of a regional team and will take direction from and is accountable to the Regional Sales Manager, liaising and co-ordinating with the appropriate Business Development Manager and Operations and Customer Service Manager as required.

There is a requirement for significant travel within the Region and occasionally within the UK.

Responsibilities

1. To undertake activities that support the company Vision and Mission;

2. the effective and on time servicing of the customer accounts for which the Account Manager is responsible including weekly visits, when appropriate;

3. carrying out contracted technical visits to customers in accordance with the contractually agreed timetable;

4. to plan personal sales activities and customer/prospective customer contact including the establishment of priorities in support of Company aims, as well as the managing of personal time and productivity;

5. to manage the customers or territory assigned to the job incumbent in a manner which conforms to the market development strategy agreed with the relevant Regional Sales Manager;

6. to respond effectively to all sales enquiries from within the territory for which the job incumbent is responsible and to ensure that if an enquiry comes from outside the territory that it is passed to the relevant Regional Sales Manager;

7. to pre-prepare the monthly 121, meet on a monthly basis to review the 121 and carry out the actions agreed with the Regional Sales Manager;

8. to maintain and expand the Company’s business with existing customers by ensuring that they are fully aware of the full range of the Company’s products and services;

9. to manage the product/service mix, pricing and margins according to the aims agreed with the relevant Regional Sales Manager;

10. to increase the Company’s market presence by ensuring that each prospective customer is fully briefed on the full range of the Company’s products and services;

11. to work with and support the Regional Sales Manager in the organisation, planning and development of sales activity within their assigned territory;

12. to make and attend the number of appointments with customers or prospective customers which has been agreed with the responsible Regional Sales Manager;

13. the identification of potential market opportunities for the Company and the reporting of these opportunities to the relevant Regional Sales Manager and the Marketing Executive;

14. when required, to liaise with and assist the Marketing Executive in the planning and execution of both marketing, promotional and product/service launch activities with their assigned customers/prospects or within the assigned territory;

15. to complete and file all paperwork, certification and code of conduct compliance documents in a timely fashion and in any event within 14 days of completing the referenced tasks;

16. to ensure that all Legionella customers for which the job incumbent is responsible are supplied with up to date and accurate ‘code of conduct recommendations’ and to review these annually;

17. to comply with all relevant Government, Industry and Company promulgated Health and Safety rule, regulations, guidelines or code of practice;

18. as far as they are personally able, to ensure, proactively, that the Company’s customer and prospective customer contact database is as up to date as possible;

19. the effective use of the Company customer and prospective customer contact activities tools and systems;

20. to keep themselves informed of all changes to such technical and regulatory issues which are relevant to the Company’s business;

21. to ensure that such Company vehicles as are entrusted to the job incumbent are maintained in a good and clean condition and in good working order;

22. to ensure that any non-vehicular Company equipment entrusted to the job incumbent is well maintained and in good working order;

23. to adhere to the Company’s policies covering the care and maintenance of such Company owned equipment as may be allocated to the job incumbent from time to time and to ensure that such equipment is in good working order at all times;

24. when requested to attend Company regional meetings;

25. such other activities which may reasonable be requested of an Account Manager by either the appropriate Regional Sales Manager or a Director of the Company and

26. at all times to represent the Company in a professional manner such that the stature of the Company is enhanced at every opportunity.

Accountabilities

1. the quality and timeliness of the service provided to the customer accounts for which the Account Manager is responsible;

2. the quality, thoroughness and timeliness of contracted technical visits to customers for which the Account Manager is responsible;

3. adherence to all relevant Company procedures, work instructions and ACOP L8 at all times;

4. meeting or exceeding the agreed number of appointments made with customers or prospective customers each week;

5. the accuracy and relevance of all information supplied to the Company relating to the customer accounts for which the Technical Service Representative is responsible;

6. the accuracy and quality of all data supplied to the Company;

7. personal appearance and attitude when representing the Company whether this is within working hours or not;

8. the cleanliness, tidiness and operational effectiveness of all Company equipment and vehicles entrusted to the job incumbent;

9. working within Health and Safety limits at all times;

10. being abreast of all necessary technical and regulatory issues which a relevant to the Company’s business;

11. the accuracy and completeness of all paperwork completed in the course of the Account Manager’s duties;

12. the completion and filing of all paperwork, certification and code of conduct compliance documents in a timely fashion and in any event within 14 days of completing the referenced tasks;

13. his/her personal professional development and the identification of necessary training required to achieve satisfactory competence in the performance of the Account Manager’s duties;

14. the accuracy of the monthly forecast both for ‘work to be invoiced’ and ‘new business expected’ in the following month;

15. ensuring that the product/service mix, pricing and margins agreed with the relevant Regional Sales Manager are met at all times;

16. the effective response to all sales opportunities by ensuring that such responses address the specific needs of the customer/prospect, are technically correct, accurately priced, are presented to the customer/prospect in a timely fashion and enhance the Company’s reputation and standing;

17. the effective management of their personal time, productivity, their personal sales activities and customer/prospect contact.
