a thorough understanding of the Health Technical Memorandums
documentation, Thermostatic Mixing Valves and the governance
surrounding water hygiene and safety. Delegates will also cover the
legislation surrounding TMV and the risk of Legionella Bacteria.


TMV (HTM) Installation, Commissioning and Maintenance for Healthcare Training Overview
This thermostatic mixing valves (TMV) training course will give the delegate’s awareness of HTM requirements relating to the maintenance, disinfection following the installation and maintenance of TMVs, as well as awareness of TMV maintenance in a healthcare setting.
This training course covers all the legislation surrounding the use of TMVs, the hygiene and safety of water, including HSG274 Part 2 (ACoP L8), HTM 04 -01 Parts A, B, C & Supplement Performance Specification D 08. Furthermore, it covers the risk of Legionella bacteria being present increasing the risk of Legionnaires disease in a Healthcare setting
Delegates will leave the course with an understanding of TMVs for healthcare environments, their maintenance duties, legal responsibilities and the correct governance for water hygiene and safety.

This course is suitable for anyone who is employed in the maintenance, design and operation of engineering services, including maintenance personnel, operators or estate managers. Furthermore, it is useful for any person wanting to develop or reinforce their knowledge of hot water and storage systems, covering the design, maintenance, installation and servicing.

- The importance of water safety groups and water safety plans
- Understanding and interpreting data contained within case studies

- Understanding of TMV mechanical and non-mechanical devices
- Identify key components and examine cleaning commissioning and monitoring regimes
- understand the safe operation and monitoring of TMV devise
- Identify common faults and how to rectify
- Understand the principles of disinfection
- Identify best practices for the reduction of water borne pathogens
- To develop an understanding of Health Techincal Memorandaums (HTM)
- To develop or reinforce understanding of HSG274 Part 2 (ACoP L8)
- To gain an understanding of Organisational Governance Arrangments
- To get an understanding of different types of TMVs and there common faults
- To develop to reinforce understanding of HTM 04-01 Part A, B & D
At the end of the TMV (HTM) training, each delegate undertakes a multiple-choice assessment consisting of 20 questions. 15 correct answers achieve a passing grade (75%).
For the online TMV (HTM) training, the assessment will be completed via a PC, mobile phone or tablet.
Upon successful completion of the TMV (HTM) Installation, Commissioning and Maintenance for Healthcare course you will receive a City and Guilds Accredited Programme Certificate.
A digital certificate will be made available for you to download normally within 48hrs of successfully completing this course. However, paper copies of certificates can be supplied subject to a small administration fee.
This will need renewing every 2 years.
