This City & Guilds Accredited Legionella Awareness Course is held at one of our nationwide training centres at our HQ in South Yorkshire, Solihull or Hemel Hempstead. All open classroom courses are taught by one of our expert trainers, covering all content through group discussions, presentations, videos, practical classroom and breakout sessions. Refreshments are available at our classroom courses.

Legionella Awareness Open Classroom Training Course
This course is delivered in a classroom environment with one of our expert water instructors, via several methods, including presentation, group work, video, breakout sessions and discussions. This Legionella Awareness classroom course allows delegates to network with other industry members and share their experiences with the group. This course can be held at one of the training locations of Hydro-X Headquarters (South Yorkshire), Solihull or Hemel Hempstead.

Legionella Awareness Training Aims:
This City & Guilds Accredited Programme on Legionella Awareness covers the following key learning objectives, ensuring that delegates leave with a solid understanding of the topic:
- Understanding what Legionella bacteria are, how they enter water systems, and how Legionnaires’ Disease can be contracted.
- Recognizing illnesses caused by Legionella bacteria, their symptoms, and who is most susceptible.
- Identifying the routes of transmission for Legionella.
- Gaining knowledge about pneumonia and how Legionella affects the lungs.
- Understanding the conditions that promote the growth of Legionella bacteria.
- Learning about aerosol generation and its role in spreading Legionella.
- Familiarizing with the basics of ACoP L8 and HSG274 guidance.
- Understanding the importance of a clear management pathway.
- Acquiring basic knowledge of a Legionella Risk Assessment.
- Recognizing the importance of having a written scheme in place.
- Identifying systems that present a foreseeable risk.
- Learning how to inspect and monitor hot and cold water systems effectively.
