Protecting your workplace from Coronavirus/COVID-19 with Surface Disinfection
Dependant on the level of hygiene required for a building, Hydro-X can provide a sanitation team to undertake a disinfection on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. We cater for workplaces in all industries, including Healthcare.
Hospitals will require 24 hours, around the clock care, and our Coronavirus disinfection team can provide this. We offer a full disinfection pre, post or mid-treatment to help lower the risk of COVID-19.
The methodology involves:
- Allowing a diffuser to mist the internal spaces
- Using Public Health England (PHE) recommended products to disinfect/scrub down all surfaces
- Removing waste
Our cleaning experts use personal protective equipment and are committed to delivering a rigorous job with the latest equipment, regardless of the size of the site.
A complete fogging process is undertaken to complement the sanitisation procedure. Surface areas are wiped down with the appropriate disinfecting materials to help minimise the risk of coronavirus.
The fogging methodology creates atomised disinfectant with proven efficiency against coronavirus on hard, non-porous surfaces. The fogger units evenly distribute the disinfectant to all surfaces, including hard to reach areas.
This method allows for the effective, same-day sterilisation of large areas and rooms quickly and thoroughly.
Coronavirus – What is it?
Coronavirus, otherwise known as COVID-19, is a pneumonia-like illness reported first in China towards the end of 2019. The virus is highly contagious and can damage the respiratory elements within the body, sometimes fatally.
It targets the lungs and airways of the infected, and the chances of recovery depend on some factors. These factors can include age and the underlying health conditions of a person. COVID-19 is a new virus and research is underway to provide a better understanding of the virus, how to stop the infection and potentially create a vaccine.
Coronavirus has taken centre stage in the affairs of many countries around the globe because of its effects. Some of the ways people can help minimise the risk of catching the virus in recent times are:
- wash hands regularly
- practise social distance
- avoid non-essential outings
According to the NHS, these are the primary Coronavirus Symptoms –
- A continuous cough (newly developed)
- High Temperature/Fever
- Shortness of Breath
How does Coronavirus spread?
There are two primary ways the virus is transmitted, person-to-person and via the infection living on surfaces. The way it transfers from person-to-person is through droplets when someone infected sneezes or coughs.
There is no definite answer to how long it can survive on a surface yet. However, similar to other viruses, humidity can enable it to survive longer. Frequently used surfaces are the biggest transmitters of Coronavirus, and if it behaves like other known viruses, it can survive on these surfaces for several weeks.
Examples of these surfaces/touchpoints would be:
- kitchen counters
- doorknobs/door handles
- laminated worktops
- bathroom sinks
and many other forms of metal, plastic or glass surfaces.
We are pleased to be able to offer our specialist cleaning and disinfection services to help reduce the risk of spread of the virus in commercial buildings.
