What is the Value of an IOSH Certificate?

IOSH Certificates hold different values for a business and delegates involved. An example of this would be a smaller number of absences are recorded after the course, which also goes hand-in-hand with increased productivity. However still significantly important, the delegate gains an increased respect from colleagues, customers and industries when an IOSH accreditation is achieved.

There are a few things that are definitely applicable to all IOSH Courses and does not apply to their non-accredited counterparts. An IOSH  Certificate proves that the learner values the safety of not just themselves, but their team too.

The qualifications are taught through trusted methodology that has been used many times previously, with a clear primary business focus.

The Value of IOSH Certificate for a Business

Professional Development –

The IOSH Certificate develop and sharpen the skills of employees.

Productivity Increases –

Fewer absences occur when learners have completed an IOSH course, due to the fact that they are better educated when it comes to potential risk and hazards.

Safer Environment –

The workplace becomes a safer place for employees with the knowledge gained with an IOSH Certificate.

International Recognition –

An IOSH Certificate is not just respected in the UK, they are an international valuable asset to have in any industry and environment.

Effective Risk Assessing –

Delegates will learn to successfully identify risks before it’s too late.

Encompassing Knowledge –

IOSH is an organisation that fully utilises all of it’s resources to produce well-informed content for all of its courses. All of the bases are covered and knowledge gaps are plugged.

Value of an IOSH qualification

What are the Different Types of IOSH Qualifications?

A certificate is issued to the delegate after successful completion of each IOSH course. A positive benefit of these qualifications is that they never expire. However, this doesn’t mean that the courses should never be redone or refreshed, but it shows that the information delivered is broad enough to satisfy the accreditation.

Three examples of qualifications that can be gained through the IOSH Courses are:

Managing Safely Certificate – gained through our 3 day course, allowing managers to lead employees on precautionary measures and reactionary behaviour. This is the most popular version of the training and along with the other courses, it can change and improved a companies entire safety culture when communicated correctly. Equivalent to a Level 3 qualification.

Working Safely Certificate – employees become actively involved in improving health and safety awareness throughout the entire company with this version of the training. The Working Safely qualification can be used by individuals as part of their Curriculum Vitae, but again the benefits to an entire company are unprecedented.

Managing Safely Refresher Certificate – acts as an advantageous reminder to managers and supervisors, focused fully on the original course’s most important elements of safety and health for business. With a strong focal point on what it takes to be a leader when it comes to health and safety. All the critical topics are condensed and covered in only one day.

The Difference between IOSH and NEBOSH

As an employee looking to broaden their horizon when it comes occupational health, there’s no doubt that both IOSH Qualifications and NEBOSH Qualifications are the two most highly recognised certifications. Having an IOSH membership or NEBOSH membership is only going to benefit an individual professionally.

The most popular NEBOSH (National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health) course and qualification is the National General Certificate. This is primarily relevant for workers at an advanced stage within their career in health and safety.

NEBOSH courses tend to be more intensive and longer duration, as the average study duration can be around 2 months. In comparison to an IOSH Course lasting only 1 to 3 days. Both companies spend countless hours designing and researching the content for each course syllabus and thinking of better ways to assess the delegates.

In a brief summary, if you are wanting to become a more well-rounded individual by learning the latest HSE legislations, an IOSH training course would be best suited for you.
