Can I place an order over the phone?

Do I need an email address to buy a course?

Yes, you will need an email address to buy a course. This is because we use your email to send communications to you. We also need your email address to send you your purchase invoice/receipt.

If you want to give the training to someone else, then they will need their own email address too. This is so that we can send them a link to the training.

How do I buy online?

You can buy online at the HX Training website by creating a customer login, or simply checking out as a guest.

You simply add products/courses to your basket and then purchase them with your preferred accepted payment method by completing the checkout process – absolutely no different than any other internet purchase!

Which payment methods are accepted?

You can pay for your order by using all major debit/credit cards via our secure SagePay portal. You may also pay by Purchase Order number at checkout. You can find the full payment options on the Checkout page.

Will my details be given to third parties?

HX Training does not pass on any contact/personal information onto third parties under any circumstances. If you have any concerns in this respect, please contact our support team directly.

Which browser should I use to view your website?

The HX Training website is designed to be user-friendly and compatible with all major internet browsers, including mobile phone and tablet devices. If you are having any difficulties at all in using our site, please do contact us as we always welcome feedback

Is ordering online with HX Training secure?

The website holds full SSL certification and enforces the use of HTTPS protocols, as well as using the latest in HTML5 internet protocols. These elements together with supervised internal network security ensure full PCI security compliance.

How can I redeem a discount code?

You can redeem a discount code on the Checkout page – once you are ready to purchase your order.

Do I need an internet connected device in order to take the assessment?

At all of our open courses, we offer an electronic assessment facility – this is compatible across devices – laptop,  mobile phone, tablet, and only requires an internet connection.

This facility allows us to check and validate your assessment results more quickly,  meaning you get your certification faster.

If you do not wish to use this facility, or are unable to, we will provide a written assessment alternative, however, this may delay you results notification and certification.

Do I need to bring lunch with me?

Where HX Training host the course (both internal and external venues), lunch and refreshments will be provided.

If you have any special dietary requirements, you will have opportunity to inform us during the booking process.

What happens if I am late arriving at a course?

Please let us know if you are going to be late attending a course.

We will try and accommodate late attendance as far as is fair on yourself and the other delegates, however, it will ultimately be up to the trainer to decide if you have missed too much of the course and if that means you would be disadvantaged in the assessment.

How long will it take to get my certificate if I pass the course?

For our City and Guilds Accredited Courses, we aim to get an electronic certificate to you within 48 hours. This may be a little longer over weekends and bank holidays.

In the case of IOSH Courses,  the certificate production is handled externally by IOSH, and so takes on average 4-6 weeks.

What happens if I miss the course due to illness or something urgent comes up?

While we try and sympathise with all situations, we must also consider the other delegates on the course,  and those who wish to,  but cannot attend the course because the course is already full.

As such, you will be able to defer the course date to another date once only.

Why video training??

Everybody learns in different ways, and at different paces. Video-based training offers the best mix of audio and visual learning and can demonstrate real-life practical examples much easier than image or text-based learning alone.

How do I give courses to someone else?

It is very easy to buy courses for someone else. Simply buy the training courses you require using your own email address.

If you buy multiples of courses,  our system will set you up as an administrator of your own ‘training portal’ that you will be sent login details for. From there, you simply add the names and email addresses of the learners as required, and the system automatically sends them their own course logins.

The learners will receive an email giving them a link to access their own Learning Management System account and access the training. Once in the Learning Management System, they will be able to take the training and get their certificate.

The whole process is very quick and seamless.

Can I take the online course on a phone or tablet

All of our courses are designed to work well on Windows and Android mobile phones and tablets.

Certain Apple devices –  iPads and iPhones don’t natively support the Flash plugin required automatically. In this case, you will need to download a mobile browser with Flash support, for example, as Puffin.

Are speakers required for the course?

All of our E-learning training material is video-based and therefore includes sound – we’ve found this to be the best method of learning for most people.

However, don’t worry if your computer does not support sound as the narration is covered in an optional subtitles box at the bottom of each screen.

You can also replay any video content at any time in case you miss something.
