How does your 'best price guarantee' work?

Here at HX Training, we work hard with our customers to develop and deliver high quality training solutions that meet their statutory compliance requirements, as well their budgetary pressures. We are so confident in our understanding of the health, safety and compliance training market.

If you can find a comparable course provided by another company, which is being delivered for less money than we charge, we will happily refund the difference.

The course must be similarly accredited, as well as being delivered in the same high-quality and professional manner that we deliver.

PLEASE NOTE – there are many ‘quick’ online courses available for around £30. The candidates never speak to a trainer, nor is there a suitably qualified person to answer any questions. HX Training strongly opposes this form of ‘fast’ training and is by no measure whatsoever comparable for the purposes of this guarantee.

What is your 14-day money back guarantee?

We understand that sometimes plans change – staff changes, work commitments, somebody putting something in your diary that you hadn’t planned for. That’s why we offer a 14-day money back guarantee from the date you placed on your order. This allows you to secure and plan for your course booking, but with the flexibility if something changes in the following 2 weeks, you can be secure in not losing out financially.

PLEASE NOTE – this 14-day guarantee becomes invalid once you have participated in a training course (i.e. if you sit your course 1 week after purchase, you cannot reclaim. Can I place an order over the phone?

Do I need an email address to buy a course?

Yes, you will need an email address to buy a course. This is because we use your email to send communications to you. We also need your email address to send the purchase invoice and receipt.

If you want to give the training to someone else, they will need their own email address too. This is so that we can send them a link with all the training information.

Which payment methods are accepted?

You can pay for your order by using all major debit/credit cards via our secure portal. You may also pay by Purchase Order number at checkout. You can find the full payment options on the Checkout page.

Will my details be given to third parties?

HX Training does not pass on any contact or personal information onto third parties under any circumstances. If you have any concerns in this respect, please contact our support team directly.

How do I buy online?

Simply go to one of our individual course pages and click register on the date/type of course you would like. This will take you to our training hub.

LIVE Virtual Training

How does the LIVE Virtual Classroom Training work?

All of our Virtual Classroom courses are taught using a user-friendly platform, which is just as effective on a tablet, laptop or PC.

It’s similar to Skype, but with the added functionality needed in order to deliver a thorough educational experience. After the experienced trainer guides you through the course, there is an assessment which is completed remotely with ease at the end.

How does it differ from the face to face courses?

Commute or travel isn’t required to attend theses courses. This can be a big financial saving that will keep business operations running smoothly with a shorter time spent away from day-to-day tasks. They are roughly 20% cheaper than the on-site courses and 40% more effective time-wise, however, still delivering the same content as the classroom course.

What internet browser should I use?

We would recommend using Google Chrome or Firefox for the best results.

What is the pass rate for remote training?

A 75% pass grade is required to gain a certificate.

How is the exam completed?

An online, multiple-choice exam is to be completed at the end of training.

What do I need to complete the training?

Access to the internet and audio. Our training is also mobile and tablet friendly. We will send a connection link test in advance, so you can ensure you have no issues connecting to the training portal. 

How long does my certificate last?

A City & Guilds training certificate will expire after two years. However, an IOSH Certificate never expires, but we recommend retaking an IOSH Course every 2 years to refresh your training.

Can I login and complete the training at any time?

No, our web-conference courses have not been pre-recorded. Therefore we have set dates and times available for you to choose from. As our courses are live, this gives you the opportunity to ask questions and engage with our trainer, using the chat box facility provided throughout the training.

Do you have any tips on preparing for a LIVE Virtual Classroom course?

It’s quite likely that you haven’t taken part in a LIVE Virtual Classroom training course before. If you haven’t, here are some top tips to make sure you’re prepared and get the most out of it:

  1. You can login to your course from as early as 30 minutes before the start time. The earlier you can login the better to ensure everything is working smoothly for you.
  2. We strongly recommend asking any questions you wish in the chat box during the training course. Depending on the number of trainees, and the number of questions asked, it might not be possible to answer all questions during the course. Rest assured we will respond to you after the course if time runs out.
  3. All detailed information is provided on the registration email once you book a course.


Who are Videotile?

Videotile started in 2005, producing promotional films for businesses and company websites. However, now they have expanded their skills to creating interactive, video-based, online training courses.

Where does the course content come from?

As experts in our industry, we advise VideoTile with the content for courses and help them keep the resources up to date. All the Health and Safety courses, for example, are written as per the Health and Safety executive guidelines. All online courses are approved by accredited organisations to add further weight to the qualification.

How do you keep up with legislation changes?

These are not fixed videos. They are updated every quarter in line with legislation. The video you have purchased will be updated automatically.

Do I have finish the course in one go or can I revisit?

You can revisit the online course at anytime, but we would recommend taking the course in one go, as this means your skills stay fresh, ready for the questions at the end of each module.

How many attempts do I have to complete the course?

Every course allows 3 attempts of each module to successfully complete the course.

How are the online courses assessed?

After each module, candidates will be presented with multiple choice questions. During this you can go back to review the e-learning videos to refresh your skills if needed.

How will I receive my certificate?

When the candidate has successfully completed the online course, they will receive an electronic certificate straight away. All you have to do is download it from your Videotile account.

What's included in a Business Account?

With a business account you receive access to our Learning Management System (LMS). Some of the benefits include progress tracking, here you can see where your employees are up to the in their training.

In addition to purchasing courses directly from our website and opening a business account, we can also assign you with large quantities of generic credit to your business account. This will give you the opportunity to purchase upfront any training you need in the future. In return, you will be rewarded with lower prices and a more flexible solution, giving you unlimited access to the full suite of courses. You don’t need to know what courses you need or when you will need it, the credit is generic so can be used against ANY course. What’s more: it never expires.

Unlimited usage subscriptions are also available, so your employees can have access to all of our titles, giving you piece of mind knowing all your training needs and compliance are covered with a one monthly payment.

On the other hand, Candidate accounts are for individuals actually undertaking the online course training.

Do I need to bring lunch with me?

Wherever HX Training hosts the course, both internal and external venues, lunch and refreshments will be provided.

If you have any special dietary requirements, you will have opportunity to inform us during the booking process.

What happens if I am late arriving at a course?

Please let us know if you are going to be late attending a course.

We will try and accommodate late attendance for yourself and the other delegates. However, it will ultimately be up to the trainer to decide if you have missed too much of the course and if that means you would be disadvantaged in the assessment.

What happens if I miss the course due to illness or something urgent comes up?
