Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations Training Overview
This 1-day classroom course is a City & Guilds Accredited programme to give a working knowledge of Water Supply Regulations.
This Water Supply training course does not provide the learner with a recognised qualification for the Approved Plumbers/WaterSafe registered scheme.
Our Water Regulations training course has been designed for anyone who needs a working knowledge of the regulations such as contractors, Plumbers within FM companies, plumbers/dual skilled staff within hospitals, nursing homes and self-employed plumbers.
Over this 1 day Water Supply training several aims are covered, including gaining an understanding of the UK Water Industry Legislation & the basics behind the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations/Byelaws
Furthermore, the course covers the fluid categories, basic principles of materials and substances in contact with water, the importance of water system design and the prevention of cross-connection to unwholesome water. There are also learning objectives covering the service design and installation of hot and cold water systems.
As part of this water byelaws & regulations training course, it covers an overview of the correct installation of backflow prevention devices (RPZ) to maintain the quality of the drinking water systems. This course is delivered as either an open face-to-face classroom course or as a ½ day virtual delivery using our live classroom platform. Both delivery options give the same expert training and provide the City & Guild Accredited Programme Certificate when completed.

Course Information
- The learners will develop a knowledge of the contamination of wholesome water
- How Contaminated water can pose a risk to humans and the health implications associated with it
- The delegate will gain an understanding of how water regulations/byelaws can prevent backflow/back siphonage
- An understanding of how to prevent the risk and misuse, waste, undue consumption or erroneous measurement of water
- Learners will also learn how to prevent contamination of drinking water.
- The delegate will be able to develop an understanding of the UK Water Industry
- This training course will cover the legislation surrounding the Water Industry
- The learner will gain an understanding of the impact of The Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations – The Water Byelaws

At the end of the Awareness of Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulation/Byelaws training each delegate undertakes a multiple choice assessment consisting of 20 questions, with 15 correct answers achieving a pass grade (75%).
On successful completion, you will receive a City and Guilds Accredited Programme Certificate in Awareness of Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations/Byelaws.
This certificate of training should be refreshed after every 2 years.
This Awareness course does not provide the learner with a recognised qualification for the Approved Plumbers/WaterSafe registered scheme.
