Legionella Training: Cooling Systems Operative Training Course Overview
This is a 1-day training course in Legionella Training: Cooling Systems Operatives for personnel who work with cooling towers or evaporative cooling systems to gain an understanding and additional knowledge of the health and safety aspects of operating cooling systems and the risk of Legionella bacteria.
It covers all the legislation and guidance documents surrounding Legionella bacteria including covering the Acop L8, HSG 274 Part 1 as well as COSHH, The Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999, and the Notification of Cooling Towers and Evaporative Condenser Regulation 1992 (NCTEC)
As well as the legal side of using cooling towers this course covers and reinforces the delegate’s knowledge of what a cooling system is, the operational requirements of using one, commissioning, furthermore monitoring checks, and sampling requirements are covered, as well as the inspection, cleaning, and disinfection of cooling towers.

Successful candidates will receive a City & Guilds Accredited Certificate in Legionella Training: Cooling Systems Operators. This certificate should be refreshed every 2 years.

- The learner will gain a working knowledge of what is in a written/control scheme and how to implement it for cooling systems
- The delegates will gain an understanding of the measurement initials connected with cooling systems
- The learners will get the knowledge of cleaning and disinfection processes for cooling systems
This course aims to give the delegates the knowledge and skills required for effective Legionella Management
At the end of the cooling systems training, each delegate undertakes a multiple-choice assessment consisting of 16 questions. 12 correct answers achieve a passing grade (75%).
On successfully completing the Legionella Training: Cooling Systems, you will receive a City and Guilds Accredited Programme Certificate.
This will need to be renewed every 2 years.
