There’s been a lot of exciting changes at Hydro-X recently, the launch of Hydro-X Fire, receiving our ISO14001 and ISO45001 accreditations (on top of our ISO9001 earlier in the year), and Hydro-X Training moving to a new purpose-built facility. The latest piece of exciting news is the promotion of Jon Greaves to Group Managing Director. Jon has been with Hydro-X for 15 years taking on a variety of roles. His promotion through the business demonstrates how committed we are to investing in employee development.
Jon first started working for Hydro-X in 2006 as a Water Treatment Engineer, this role would typically involve him conducting various works on sites around the UK to ensure they were safe and compliant with the relevant legislations.
After four years in this role, he was promoted to a Water Account Manager and meant that Jon was responsible for being the main point of contact for customers, arranging for water hygiene compliance works to be conducted by Water Technicians and creating new business for the company.
Jon was then promoted to Southern Regional Manager in 2013 where his main responsibilities changed to managing all the Water Account Managers within the South of the UK.
A further promotion ensued after almost two years in this role, which meant Jon became National Technical Manager. This involved technical management, support, and training, assisting with the integration of new products, and helping the development within the large companies and contracts that Hydro-X Water deal with.
After 4 years in the role, Jon then progressed to Group Technical and Marketing director where he was tasked with the company’s marketing activities, development of key clients and upskilling the of the teams.
A year later there was another change as Jon held the title of Group Sales and Marketing Director which involved developing of the key clients across the group of Hydro-X companies and heading up the marketing team. This has eventually led to him recently being named as the Group Managing Director.

It was an extremely proud moment for myself to be promoted to the role of Group Managing Director at a company I have worked for 15 years; starting as a casual employee in 2006 whilst at university; upon graduating I started work full time as a water treatment engineer carrying out all types of water and air hygiene tasks. Working my way through various roles over the years I have learnt many things and have ‘worn many hats’ allowing me to understand many aspects of the business and industry. Throughout my development with Hydro-X I was always given development opportunities and coaching to help upskill and mature into new roles. I am extremely proud to represent Hydro-X and our team as the Group Managing Director. The company has grown from 20 colleagues to over 200 in my time and as we continue to grow, Hydro-X will continue to support our colleagues in developing their skills and talents to help meet our business goals.
